Smith-Shank Co-edits Online Journal |
|

Debbie Smith-Shank is co-editor with Karen Keifer-Boyd (Penn State) of the online, freely accessible, juried journal Visual Culture and Gender. Volume 4 is now online! @ http://www.emitto.net/visualculturegender
There are 2 arts-based narrative inquiry articles (Ballengee Morris and Rhoades), and an action research project (Washington, Feen-Calligan, Moxley), a case study (Lai & Lu), and a Deleuzian analysis of the film, Mean Girls (Robinson-Cseke). Also Eisenhauer's (M)other is an emotionally moving visual diary, and all we can say is bravo for Judy Chicago (see Eve in volume 4). Brandt's book review is a great example of a critical review of an important topic--constructions of masculinity.
A new feature in this volume is VoiceThread -- where readers have the opportunity to record their ideas about the journal and the ideas in the articles! Please return share your thoughts using VoiceThread at volume 4. (click on vol. 4 in the menu).
