Campus Visits

The School of Art and Design welcomes visits by prospective students who wish to see the School of Art and Design facilities and discuss the art program at NIU with an advisor.  Interested students may arrange visits by contacting the School of Art and Design Recruitment Officer, Stephanie Sailer, at (815) 753-1473.

Prospective students wishing to go on general campus guided tours during weekdays may visit the Barsema Alumni and Visitors Center at 231 N. Annie Glidden Road, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), at 11:30am or 2:00pm (campus tours are not available on Saturdays during summer hours, which start on June 7 and run through August 13).  During the Fall and Spring Semesters, or from early September through late May, Saturday guided tours are offered at 12:00 noon. Visit the Admissions website for current information on scheduling an appointment with an admissions counselors, or call Admissions in advance to plan your visit.

NIU schedules open houses for prospective students and their parents four times a year during weekdays when most public schools have scheduled holidays or dismissed classes:

During open houses, university personnel are available to answer questions about the campus and most academic departments have representatives on hand to discuss their various degree programs.
