Artist Talk with Kristine Marx

Kristine Marx, whose works have been shown in Tokyo, Berlin, New York City, and Los Angeles, and numerous universities and galleries across the U.S., will be coming to NIU as one of the creative collaborators of Ryusuimon Study. This work, featuring Kristine’s video with music composed by Akemi Naito and performed on piano by Satoko Inoue, will be presented at NIU as part of a concert event on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012.

Marx, who creates drawings, video , and installations, will give
an overview of her work, especially work leading to her collaborations with composer Akemi Naito and other composers. She will present themes in her solo work that continue in her collaborative projects, and discuss how collaborations have influenced her solo work.
